Internship & Volunteer Opportunities

Clinical Internships for Fall 2024 are closed!

Please reach out to Rachel Ewing, LMFT, RIA Clinical Director, rachel@readyinspireact.org with any questions or considerations.

Students from graduate training programs in counseling/therapy or social work are welcome to apply for one of our clinical internships. They will be supervised by our Clinical Director who has worked in community mental health for more than a decade.

Our internship training comes with rich opportunities to utilize trauma informed care, and apply the ecological and stages of change model in order to meet our participants where they’re at. Many of our participants and individuals in therapy have complex trauma and often have co-occurring substance use disorders. At RIA, Inc. we are grounded in relational approaches that support the holistic wellbeing of survivors of exploitation, while also utilizing systemic theory in order to address needs in all aspects of their life.

Through our community-based accompaniment approach, clinical interns at RIA will also have the chance to develop a deep understanding of the peer-professional partnership model of care that supports RIA participants. In addition, interns will have opportunities to engage in ongoing internal seminars and external training opportunities to continue the integration of theory into practice.

Please note, because of the nature of our work in the community with a population that is often hard to reach and engage, our placement site requires access to a vehicle. Also, clinical applicants should be aware that a majority of their direct service hours will be in-person, abiding by COVID-19 state and agency protocols for the duration of the pandemic.
